THE PRESSURE OF TESTS AND COURSEWORK-SHODI                                                                   There has been quite a lot of work done this term in terms of coursework and tests. I have had to do quite a lot of vocabulary and grammar improvement in my studies. This is because i generally  am not proficient in my English and not familiar with some of the words and spellings. It is sometimes difficult to understands some words and phrases. The coursework i have had so far have been fairly satisfactory and moderate for me,though it could sometimes become infuriating when searching for sources and ideas to use and quite stressful when no reference is given. The test on the other hand have been also satisfactory, notice was given, teachers were really helpful and understanding and there has been adequate time to study.

Next term i hope to have developed in my vocabulary and grammar skills, this will allow me to have a better performance in my upcoming  tests and coursework. There are things i also aim to do,to improve in my mathematics and business and also try to improve my attendance by not missing lectures and classes. people tend to miss the early morning lectures and  classes due laziness and sometimes fatigue,i also plan on stopping that. There are some extra support classes provided that i plan on attending if my timetable permits it. There are also bad habits that i have like turning things in at the very last moment and misuse of slang in formal work, prevention's have been taking to bring to an end.

My plan to do all would not be easy but i plan on doing all and giving it my very best. Nothing in this world comes easy but if one labors and toils his or her goal would be achieved. much work and effort would be put in.

Pressure of tests and coursework

I must say this term has been a bit stressful compared to what I
have been used to. I was never exposed to this much of work and
am not finding it that simple. I have always known it was not going to be easy. Tests were okay in a way but then am being a bit lazy with my business management essay. I should be rounding it up very soon.

Next term is going to be a lot more difficult. well, that depends
because I plan on doing a number of things to help me out even with the increased difficulty. Making a personal timetable is one of them and sticking to it. Then I intend to use the coming break to cover and catch up what I have missed or didn’t  understand .This would really help.

One can never predict what will happen in the future but its always
good to keep a positive feeling. I expect myself to make some changes next term and hope for the best out of me.

THE PRESSURES OF TESTS AND COURSEWORKS – Tayo

This first term has been a bit stressful; the work load has definitely been a lot than what I’m normally used to. In terms of the tests and course works, they have been alright, I’m assured there is more to come in the spring term which I’m really anxious about. There has been a reasonable amount of time to prepare for our tests, but I have a terrible habit of sometimes preparing late for a test of a subject, I don’t quite enjoy; which is really bad and I’m working on that. There was only one essay given this term in Business Management, the essay is going quite good, I personally enjoy writing, so I’m not finding that difficult, the only thing new to me is referencing in essays, but it’s a gradual process and I’m sure as time goes on; I’ll get better at it.

I’m very sure; next term is going to be a lot harder than the first term, without doubt more of course works and more difficult tests with limited time to prepare. I felt like this term was more of an introduction into the courses and we are going to dig dipper into the courses in the spring term. My suppositions for next term are running quite high, I’m very nervous for the work and I hope it’s not as hard as I think it’s going to be, the relaxing and lounging around must certainly be reduced; as a lot more endeavour must be put in to achieve good results.

The ways which I belief will help me to lighten the load and make life a lot more easier for me in the following spring term is to; properly manage my time, I need to balance my school work and relaxation time equally, in order to avoid or reduce the act of procrastination, a study timetable is also needed and I should use it more regularly, I should also have my own personal notes. Taking personal notes during the lectures and classes helps, it reduces me having to look over the lecture notes all the time during my study time. Lastly, I’m convinced having enough sleep everyday helps for me to be alert during the lectures and classes, it also reduces stress, which helps; when I’m relieved of stress, I surely learn more.

Pressure of tests (and coursework)

My name is Anas latif sheikh. I have been studying in the university of Essex for about 2 months now and so far I have been doing well but as I get closer to the end of the term there is a lot of coursework piling up and I also have a lot of tests going on so because of all this I have been under a lot of pressure lately. In order to meet the deadlines and study for the tests I have not been able to have much free time to do anything also the format of the  tests I have are quite different than I am used to so I have to work harder .After having almost 2 months of easy schedule  so much work is hard to cope up with but I have somehow managed to do it by managing my time well and putting in a little more effort than usual also the fact that we have a month of vacations soon keeps me motivated to do my best as I will soon have a lot of time to relax.

Pressure of tests and coursework - Uzo

This term has been less stressful in terms of tests and course works compared to other school terms I have experienced in the past. There has been enough time to prepare for the tests and I was able to follow up on schoolwork instead of piling things up till the last minute, which never pans out well most of the time. Generally, there was little pressure and anxiety of tests on me and I have been able to manage the workload properly. Though laziness sets in sometimes and I get nothing on my to-do list for a particular week done, I then have to put in extra effort the following week to cover up for lost time.
I find it hard to write essays, hence there is a lot of pressure on me in starting the only course work I have been given this term. There has been more than enough time to do research and start typing up but the fact that I do not enjoy writing essays has made it easy for me to procrastinate.
This term has been fairly easy, I see it as an orientation into the system, but as time goes on, next term, I sense the workload would become heavy. I will have about 3 course works or there about to submit so there will be little or no time to faff about and lounge. Also, the tests I would be having are going to cover everything learnt from week 1 and that requires a lot of studying. The thought of this really frightens me.

The only key to making life a lot easier for myself is to stick to this method of following up on everything I am taught by making notes on all my respective topics so when tests come along, revision becomes easy and avoid panicking.  Also making a study timetable will help me to organise myself each day. It is difficult to keep to it, as it is easier said than done, but worth it in the end.

IFP GROUP 6 BLOG 2

THE PRESSURE OF TESTS & COURSEWORK

The subject of our second blog is the Pressure of Tests & Coursework. Please take time to think about the pressure or stress that you have (or haven't) been under thus far this term. Has the workload been too heavy or has it been manageable? What can you do to lighten the load and make life easier for yourself? What concerns do you have about your workload and what expectations of future workload?

Please plan your thoughts in Word first so you can check you spelling, grammar, and punctuation before posting. Although a blog can be less formal than a normal piece of writing, try to use language thoughtfully watch for overly simplistic language and repetition and refrain from using slang etc. Spend some time on this as you will be using as a input source for a 'reflection' later and the quality of your blog entries will constitute part of that overall mark.

Please feel free to make (respectful and thoughtful) comments on others’ posts but please refrain from insulting or offensive language - I will have to remove it and it may constitute an academic offence. Please note these posts can only be read by myself and the other students in your academic skills class, unless someone has the specific URL.

This blog was supposed to be completed by the end of Week 10 but as I am a little late in getting it to you you can take up to the end of week 11 - so the new deadline is lunchtime Friday 13t
